This is my Star Trek character, inspired by the eleventh film.

Personality: Kevin is a cheerful guy who enjoys what he does. Some say he's nothing more than a repairman, but Kowalski considers his job very important. His technician job allows him to work with his hands, which he loves. At heart, Kowalski is an entertainer and a showman. He is also known for his pranks. Kowalski is a teetotaller.

Kevin Kowalski is a proud Englishman, the son of championship boxer Andrew "The Polish Pulverizer" Kowalski, and stand-up comedienne Lisa Kowalski.

Growing up, Kowalski demonstrated a knack for working with his hands, often taking things apart to see how they work. To protect himself from bullies growing up, Kowalski was taught how to box by his father. His mother also encouraged Kowalski's love of humor.

He also had another major love growing up. Thanks to an uncle, who was a retired Starfleet officer and a collector of ancient vinyl records, Kowalski grew up a fan of the rock music of the late 20th Century, particularly Deep Purple. Kowalski taught himself to play guitar simply by listening to Ritchie Blackmore's work in Purple and Rainbow.

In his teenage years, Kowalski was a guitarist and singer in a rock band, which is the origin of his ponytail.

His uncle's tales of his Starfleet days also inspired Kowalski to come to America and join the academy at age 18. While there, he joined the Academy's boxing team and netted them the inter-collegiate Golden Gloves every year he was there.

The Academy would also introduce him to two people who would be significant in his life from then on: Biochemistry student John Cronin (his best friend), and astrophysics student Brenda Kwan (his crush).

After graduating, he was assigned to the USS Constellation, where he made Ensign, then got transferred to the Farragut, where he got promoted to Lieutenant. While on the Farragut, Kowalski met and befriended the Orion cadet named Gaila, who was brought to the Farragut during the Narada's attack on Starfleet.

Due to being trapped in a malfunctioning shuttlecraft, Kowalski and Gaila would be the only two survivors of the Farragut's destruction whenit and the fleet engaged the Narada before its eventual destruction at the hands of the USS Enterprise. After he incident, Kowalski got to join the crew of the Enterprise, where he was reunited with Cronin and Kwan, and works as a technician.

Other Info: Kowalski is a teetotaller.

This picture was drawn with a pencil, inked with Sakura Micron pen, and for something a little different, I experimented with using Sharpie markers to color him. I'm thinking of using a mix of Crayola and Sharpies, mainly using the Ultra Fine Markers to help color in small areas.
